Nicolas (amanico) shares his profound admiration for the Audemars Piguet Millenary Starwheel in steel, a timepiece that captivated him upon a real-life encounter in Hong Kong. His post highlights the watch's unique charm and originality, inviting fellow collectors to appreciate its distinctive appeal. This article delves into why the Starwheel continues to resonate with enthusiasts, years after its initial release.

If I had to pick an Audemars Piguet, nowadays, it would certainly be this Starwheel.

I knew it for years, but I had the pleasure to discover it in the real life, in Hong Kong, thanks to a local PuristS Friend.

And since then, it is stuck in my mind.

A real wonder, pure magic and original watch.

Best,

Nicolas

Replace the AP on the dial with PP or ALS and it would get more recognition. May you target and acquire this specimen. -John

I won't ever be surprised if a newly interpreted Starwheel is launched, but I highly doubt it would be so wonderfully pure. I sure miss the Millenary case.

... the other being the Antiqua. My interest in mechanical watches then watchmaking definitely started with these.
