The first thought that came to mind was whether there has ever been a documented case of misallocation 🤔. I seriously did not see this coming because I had respectfully declined the offer of a titanium piece, which is also very cool but too similar to another ti ROO of mine. I’ll admit that this black ceramic piece in particular had struck a chord when I first saw it announced because I had missed out on getting one of the all-ceramic ROOs that we’re being offered a few years ago, albeit with seemingly low production.

Regardless, I’ve been going through the process of downsizing and consolidating my collection to be more practical about what I have/keep, and to generate funds for any ‘Hail Mary’ allocation requests from the past 1-2 years that may come through. So, my watch funding account was actually back in black for a bit, until this black beauty showed up🤷🏽‍♂️

Thankfully I’m not in the red either, as I broke even.

I know these music edition pieces may be polarizing, with many people not interested…which is why I thought I may have a chance 😳. But the black ceramic really did/does speak to me given that it is relatively subtle and versatile compared to the beautiful Ti variant, yet without trading off any of the ‘fun’/playful character that inherently makes this piece special to me.

Beautiful and cute piece

I’ve been thinking about downsizing my collection today, to acquire a grail piece. Interestingly, I contacted my friend, a world renown marine conservationist, and photographer, who was sponsored by Rolex. I asked if he’d trade with me, with his name engraved on the piece he’d trade with me with, and an autograph as well. I hope he will do it.
