India Whiskey Charlie initiates a compelling horological debate, pitting two distinct interpretations of the jumping hour complication against each other: the Audemars Piguet Neo Frame Jumping Hour and the Cartier Tank À Guichets. This comparison delves into how each brand approaches a shared concept with vastly different design and historical philosophies. Readers are invited to consider not just aesthetics, but also the underlying horological commitments and historical contexts that define these unique timepieces.

as it would fit my wrist and probably most wrists better. Saying that if I had a large wrist, I would choose the AP which has the better movement and the case is also less susceptible to scratches.
The AP has been made so large it would be far from a comfortable fit on my wrist 🤷🏻♂️ Like the idea and that they did it but the size doesn’t work for me…
But, based on photos, I like the Cartier better (and it saddens me, because I would love to love the Neo Frame). Best, Emmanuel
As it seems time would be difficult to tell with both. That being said, if you are holy trinity such as AP, you should really commit to a shaped movement. Cartier has historically been mostly about design, only recently did they make a push into movements as such a more pedestrian approach is easier to forgive.
The pure gold of the Cartier is more elegant. In any case Cartier.
Cartier should have put the winding crown at the 3 o'clock position. I must have been busy when they called to ask my opinion though.
