Indeed, I've been collecting photos of watches featuring this wonderful shaped and manual-winding caliber for months now.

The time has come to show them: here they are.

A/ YELLOW GOLD - 1946

B/ YELLOW GOLD - 1953

According to Stetz & Co.

β€œ1953 was a special year for Audemars Piguet as it marked the arrival of design legend Gerald Genta.

Genta went on to design every Audemars Piguet wristwatch produced from 1953 until the release of the Royal Oak two decades later.”

I find the cas and two-tone gold lugs of this model fascinating.

E/ THREE β€œTOP HAT” EXAMPLES

The three following examples feature a case reminiscent of the Patek Philippe ref. 1450, nicknamed β€œTop Hat”: Celebrating the ugly duckling

G/ ONE EXAMPLE OF ROUND CALIBER 9/10 RS

Interestingly, Audemars Piguet did a round version of the same movement: caliber 9/10 RS (instead of β€œRSQ”).

Personally, I absolutely love not only the architecture of the 9/10 RSQ caliber, with its β€œS”-shaped central bridge, but also the watches that house it.

What about you?

Thanks for reading.

Best, Emmanuel
