Quattro introduces the rarely seen Arnold & Son Golden Wheel, a timepiece that reinterprets the wandering hours complication with a deadbeat seconds feature. This post offers a detailed look at its design and movement, then thoughtfully compares it to four rose gold Audemars Piguet Starwheel watches. Readers will gain a nuanced understanding of these intricate and visually distinct horological creations.

In this thread, I want to do two things:

  • Introduce the rarely seen Arnold & Son Golden Wheel
  • Compare it to four Audemars Piguet Starwheel watches also in rose gold

So, let's start by presenting Arnold & Son's take on the wandering hours complication.

A/ THE ARNOLD & SON GOLDEN WHEEL

It features a wandering hours display and a deadbeat (or "true beat") seconds complication and it is limited to 125 pieces.

The rose gold case measures 44 x 13.5 mm.

The top arc reaching from 10 to 2 on which the hours are running is made of mother-of-pearl.

The watch is powered by self-winding caliber A&S 6018
