Launched today at Texas Motor Speedway - this is the initial briefing!    Go HERE FOR THE FULL REPORT

Industrial race car finishing to the movement.

Two barrels, 8-day power reserve indicated with the rotating 8 (Max's IndyCar number).

Horn back strap and trick deployant clasp.

Series of eight, price ~30,000 CHF

Produced in-house at Armin Strom where 23 people create 600 watches a year. Max has been sponsored for a few years by Armin Strom, and was very involved in designing this watch - its materials, the movement finishes, the use of his car's #8, etc.

I will soon be doing a follow-up post with featuring some of the other Armin Strom watches.

HERE'S THAT POST

Yes - carefully designed and finished in modern style

Notice the blue numerals which match the blue of his car and helmet, and the faint Union Jack overlaid on the numeral 8.

I'll chime in...

Armin Strom... no matter what they come up with... will always be hard to digest by mature collectors... not because AS comes up short in comparison to the established brands, they certainly make a fine watch in all ways--but because a buyer feels that twisted pain in his gut when he considers buying an AS.... or any 'off brand' watch... you can 'taste' the death of the aftermarket... this is a watch you have to buy pre-owned to be safe.. but do I like it? I do not... however that is irrelevant.
