I've been shy to share my small collection on HOME, being that it pales in comparison to everyone else.  I've mentioned that about 18 years ago, I lost the beautiful Gruen my parents bought me for a graduation present.  It broke my heart.  The following Christmas, my present from my young daughters was an Ann Klein watch box set.  It was the sweetest thing they could have given me.  I wore it all the time.

I never owned a quartz watch before so when the battery gave out, I figured it would be easy enough to replace it myself.  Trying to get the back on was frustrating to say the least.  Within the week, before I could bring it to the jeweler, the case cover went missing.  No sweat; I thought it would be easy to replace.  Think again. That was about 15 years ago.

A few months ago I contacted the manufacturer who told to send the watch case with an explanation; they would be happy to replace the back for free.  : o All these years, I thought that finding a replacement cover was a lost cause. In October, I sent the watch case minus the strap and interchangeable bezel along with my explanation. Today I received the box with my case and replacement case cover, or so I thought.  To my surprise, they sent me an entirely new watch with the gold band and rhinestone bezel free of charge.

As I said, my watches pale in value to yours but, I'm just as fond as any here for my beloved tokens of time. Awed, Helen

It is never about the price or size of collection

...but all about the emotions and milestones in our lives that our watches represent, and your story here fills that criteria to the brim. I can feel the emotions with this watch you've shared and the memories and moments it represents to you. Beautiful and heartwarming story you've shared, Helen, and thanks. Sometimes we all need to be reminded that thanksgiving is not about the size or cost of our collections and watches but a representation of the human heart, experience, friends and family.

Thank you for your kind words Richard

I held on to my AK watch box set for a long time for sentimental reasons. And sometimes, when you least expect it, good things, like this, come to pass. For this, I am thankful. Graciously, Helen
