Amanico's latest discovery unearths a fascinating, lesser-known chapter in Alpine's history: the optional 'Olympics' package for the A110 1600S. His detailed post, complete with rare imagery, highlights how even seasoned enthusiasts can uncover new facets of beloved marques. This article explores the unique aesthetic choices of this special package and the community's reflections on Alpine's enduring appeal.

It is always the same story. When you think you know all about something, you discover something new.

I didn't know that Alpine offered  an Olympics version as an OPTION ( not in limited edition ), just right after the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble, France.

Th packaging is two colors for the body: Red, or White, Stripes in red or blue for the white body, and in black for the red body, the chromium rod on the front hood, and an upholstery which matches with the stripe ( red, blue or black ). While the black upholstery is not special, the blue and the red is. I never saw it! And it is pretty cool, I must say.

While I am not much interested about the stripes on the body, as my car is grey, I am very tempted with the interior... THAT is giving me some ideas...

Best,

Nicolas

Two of the cars stuck in the back of my memory to the extent that they still triggers me, the Aston Martin Lagonda and the Alpina A310, the latter causing the enthusiasm which later allowed me to drive the Renault 5 Turbo. The caveat with that card game was that we were always p

Loved the game as a child and had many different ones. Fortunately our kids like it, too 😁 Almost went for a 310 many years ago and still regret not having pulled the trigger πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Something tells me I will eventually end up with the current 110, though πŸ‘πŸ»

Yeah, we enjoyed that game quite a bit. The 110 makes a lot more sense by this posting. The front shot (2nd pic) and the interior is really something. Right one to move ahead from. Pedigree.

A matte darker grey semi wide stripes over the top would work with grey, probably best without?

Never had a close look I`m afraid, and your pics are the first ones I ever have seen of the original A 110. One of these strange things where something stick to your mind of some reason, and never leave. De Tomaso Pantera is another.
