Aquaracer1 shares a personal account of trying on the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down in rose gold, comparing it to his existing 36mm 1815 time-only model. His post offers a valuable perspective on how a 39mm case wears on a 6.5-6.75 inch wrist, a common concern for collectors considering larger timepieces. The side-by-side photos provide a direct visual comparison, aiding readers in understanding the subtle yet significant differences in wrist presence.
I've been hooked ever since I picked up my ALS 1815 YG 36 mm time-only in the spring. Today I was compelled to try the 1815 up/down at 39 mm in RG. Besides being blown away and incredibly weak in the knees I am pleasantly surprised and happy to report the 39 mm case size is not overwhelming for my wrist size of 6.5-6.75 inches! This is an absolutely stunning piece. They have managed to keep it pure and simple but with the lovely additions of the power reserve and seconds functions. Nothing ever feels out of place or cluttered. Here are some side by side photos. 3 mm is a big difference, but its not : ) Enjoy!
