Hello all, selling my vintage A. Lange & Sohne B-Uhr produced in 1941 and sold in 1942.
This is the Type A dial which is rarely seen vs. the Type B. It's 55mm. I have worn it a few times but this is definitely not a daily wear item. For me it was a collectible piece that is very different from any contemporary A. Lange & Sohne watch.
There were 5 producers of these B-Uhr. IWC, Stowa, Laco, Wempe and A. Lange & Sohne.
Mine comes with all the paperwork from A. Lange & Sohne (copies from archives) and a certificate from Glashutte verifying it's authenticity. All serial and case numbers are documented and match. This is not a franken watch. All original.
Now the strap is assumed to NOT be original. It originally came to me on a historically correct length band which will fit over a flight suit. This is included in the sale but a vintage style strap has been put on with historically correct rivets.
A new set of rivets are also included should one want to put this bomber length strap back on. These are fixed lug watches so it's not an easy job to switch straps.
There is no mention of the glass not being original but I can't confirm or deny this. The hands have been relumed at some point in it's life but they are original. The dial is original as well and is in great condition.
Case has lost most of it's beaded coating. There still remains some on the back of the lugs.
All case markings are DEEP and clearly visible. movement is clean and doesn't appear to have been serviced but this watch was recently oiled by Alkis in NY.
This is a vintage watch from 1941 so please keep that in mind. That said this is an amazing specimen with all original parts except the strap.
Asking $24995. Payment via wire transfer or bank to bank deposit in person. No Trades. References worldwide. Thank you.
Henry
