Indeed Día de muertos celebrates that. A day to remember and share with your departed loved ones.
This days (because there are several) many Mexican families take food, drink and music to the cemetery in order to share with the departed, robin memory of them.
Many others, place an altar at home where they offer the death loved ones, what they used to like in life: food, drinks, candies, cigars, etc.
The catrinas are skeletons who represent the death that comes after all of us.
On the other hand, the santa muerte is considered by many like a protector spirit, like something used to attract wealth and protection from evil. It is the product of syncretism.
Best.
