Sun is setting....

.. another day goes by... and here is the Chopard Ref. 16/1860/2 that kept me accompanied.. Cal. 1.96 Cal. 1.96 - Geneva Seal, COSC, twin barrel automatic. I love this watch because it exudes elegance, a watch from earlier times with a small case at 36.5m...

I think it’s a great looking Chopard...

Have a great weekend.

Thank you.

I do think this is one of the best from Chopard (in their early days). Much was said about the movement and its microrotor design. /W72

yes, there are certain similarities (visually)...

but honestly, other than the Metalam dial, the Simplicity is in another level. /W72

Why do you say that?

maybe I am biased...

i like 3 hands watches...over complication (including date) I like manual over automatic.. I like free sprung balance over pin regulated - despite free sprung requires more effort to regulate but I believe they are also more stable... I also like the size...

Thank you, and yes indeed,.

Chopard or now LUC is bring out very nice pieces (technically and aesthetically) /W72

yes, you'rer right....

I think I have a picture of this movement ... Swan neck regulator; microrotor; platinum 950 rotor weight. ...

Beautiful LUC!

I love these unostentatious, high quality Chopards. I'd nominate Chopard for the "Most Underrated Manufacture" award - at least for the references with LUC movements.

Marvelous! I've said before, and still maintain… easily could be my "only watch."

This design straddles the fence between elegance and sport with ease. Just look at that date! No apologies, just the same immaculate quality of execution! (Those raised numerals! Wow!) If not apparent all ready I am a huge fan of this LUC! No more exclama...

Indeed....

...a very nice piece and still among the best dress watches. Where do you find a solid gold dial and such a movement with geneva seal?? There are not many...!!!! Enjoy!

I find that I keep revisiting your post...

... just to admire your photo. I actually have this watch, but when it's not on my wrist, I can come here just to remind myself of how nice it is. That's how much I love the 16/1860/2 -- to me it is perfection!

Thank you...

for your revisits. I understand your feeling perfectly. This watch has that something special and takes a special place among my watches, regardless of which brands.

Thank you Singingbee...

it also has one of the most beautiful automatic micro-rotor movement in the industry rivaling the PP240. /W72

Why did they never releases...

 By: mdg : May 31st, 2020-21:38
...this with no date? I (and many others) would have bought it.

that is a good question

 By: W72 : May 31st, 2020-23:54
and a great suggestion. Such a version would make it an even more of a "dress" watch than now. While at it, make it manual wind - that will be heavenly 😍.

A manual-wind, no-date version would be the closest...

thing (from a traditional manufacturer) to a Dufour that a poor guy like me could afford : )
