My first Chopard…

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 7th, 2021-20:14
I know you might not believe it but miracles do happen. When I first read about this Jubilee QF on Apr 2nd on #watchcollectinglifestyle, I clicked the link to brand website trying to read more about the watch and pricing…watch not there yet. . Few days in...

How does this look?

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 7th, 2021-23:59
...

Very nice.

 By: amanico : May 8th, 2021-06:01

With pleasure!

 By: amanico : May 8th, 2021-06:09

If they didn't sell you the watch, I'd be mad!

 By: patrick_y : May 7th, 2021-21:11
You bought it. Legally you had entered into a contract with them and had given them consideration (money) and had gotten a reasonable expectation to get the watch you ordered from them. For them to later say it was sold out because it was supposed to be s...

Hard to say as most will have a clause to protect themselves...

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 7th, 2021-21:37
Just like the Omega Snoopy 3, there are so many deposits taken since Oct 2020 but no delivery commitments for a lot of collectors and "Specollectors" wink wink.... This piece is not supposed to appear online but it did, and it's the only one so I can only...

The Omega Snoopy was a deposit. Not exactly the same as buying a watch and getting an Order Confirmed email.

 By: patrick_y : May 10th, 2021-16:36
Chopard might have a clause to protect themselves or create ambiguity, but generally, in USA, if a consumer buys a PRODUCT (not a SERVICE) and buys the actual product (not a ticket, a ticket is the right to that product/service with the terms of the ticke...

Legally…

 By: p.boxster : May 9th, 2021-19:25
they would not have to sell it as the online order is only „invitatio ad offerendum“. But I can confirm from own experiences that the Chopard Customer Service is the best you can expect in every extent. So no question that Chopard admitted the mistake - i...

Indeed when speaking to them, I can witness they are very nice…

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 9th, 2021-19:53
I’m browsing through their collection since this experience and there are few things I don’t prefer but many things I like. The date window at 4:30 for some models are always a slight issue for me. I wish some complications at 45mm can be shrink a little ...

Not if you got an "Order Confirmed" email.

 By: patrick_y : May 10th, 2021-16:31
Order confirmed as in a piece was ordered would be a binding legal contract in USA. Yes, I know, you can buy a plane ticket, have a seat and ticket "Confirmed" and yet they can still deny you boarding (or worse, drag you off the plane). But that's the def...

Of course…

 By: p.boxster : May 10th, 2021-17:46
…this depends on the local law, I only can speak for german law. But anyway, what I wanted to say is that Chopard would not argue this but make the client happy - to my experience… As they have done here. I‘m happy with the thread starter!!

Knowing a little about Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, I can only say, that he a gentleman.

 By: patrick_y : May 10th, 2021-18:37
And hopefully the company follows his management style!

Lovely looking thing!

 By: amg786w : May 7th, 2021-21:17
Cracking piece, from the sculpted lugs, brush work of the sectored dials to the thought that has gone into the design of the hands, congrats! The associated packaging is also very nice. Looks like a timber box with actual marquetry inlay, is that the case...

It is lovely indeed...

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 7th, 2021-21:40
The box is made of real wood, heavy and you're correct on the inlay. I was also intrigued by the little handle, and it can be turned but later I found out it is found winding the watch. You insert in on the crown and use the knob to turn to wind it, not s...

Mistake…

 By: p.boxster : May 8th, 2021-21:42
… as you got - luckily - the wrong box. The crank is for the 8 day tourbillons which habe manual winding…

Oops….I thought I read somewhere this tool is for the Quattro….

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-22:08
Lol….I’m not returning it 😜

Winding crank…

 By: p.boxster : May 9th, 2021-19:34
The 8 Day Tourbillons come with it but of course it can be used with all Quattro-models. But even the crank is quite precious as it‘s 18k gold… Enjoy !!!

Gosh, really 18k gold !?!?

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 9th, 2021-19:56
I’m now impressed more than ever. Thanks p.boxster! From what I observed here, other than the long gone moderators, you are the biggest Chopard collector with great knowledge on the brand. I hope to get some guidance from you before I get the next model. ...

Totally super cool indeed

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 9th, 2021-20:36

Very happy for you!

 By: eklektik : May 7th, 2021-21:21
You tell that great story very well! Glad it ended up as you wanted. 1 of 25 online as you did must have annoyed a lot of people, but good for you! The box is very nice, great effort from Chopard! Could you tell us more about the watch? And maybe some bac...

It was the only one online...

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 7th, 2021-21:42
and not supposed to be on there but I grab it at the right time....all stars aligned for me. I will spend the next couple days taking more photos and macro shots. The little tool is for winding the watch...surprising?! You insert it on the crown and turn ...

The watch bears Qualite Fleurier seal, which..

 By: chintu : May 8th, 2021-07:28
..is a higher standard than the Poincon de Geneve. For the FQF certification the watch must pass the COSC test , followed by Chronofiable ageing test; and then a simulator based test as well apart from the higher finishing standards that set the QF seal h...

Wow, I’m embarrassed…I thought it’s only about testing…

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-07:35
Now I need to look closer and compare. Thank you very much for the info.

QF and PdG

 By: p.boxster : May 8th, 2021-21:53
As already described, QF is even superior to Poincon de Geneve. But different in some details. QF always needs Chronometer certification first. Poincon de Geneve and QF Seal will never be found together in one warch as Pincon de Geneve rejected this. The ...

Now that I looked at the macro shots, you are absolutely right…

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-22:06
I also understand not all LUC watches have the QF so this piece is really, really special. Interesting to know there is this Triple Certification Tourbillon, I’ll go deeper dive to read about it. Thank you for the info, Sir.

That‘s it:

the L.U.C Triple Certification Tourbillon: 8 Days power reserve with Quattro Technology, Tourbiilon with variner balance and Breguet overcoil, COSC, Geneva Seal AND QF-Seal ...

Impressive and impressive…

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 9th, 2021-19:47
They are the only watch manufacturer registered on FQF and took up the challenge. Thank you for the info sharing. I knew you’ll be one of the first owners for this Jubilee when I saw the release and I was correct.

Thanks for these nice shots

Seeing the rest of the discussion, you managed to access a little marvel! Best, E.

Unique situation

 By: Weems@8 : May 8th, 2021-00:46
In an opposite way, you score a peace ‘online’ unique. I also considered a Chopard watch, and wat i noticed is Chopard is an undiscovered pearl in a shell. In the years to come you can tell the experience and adventures with your L.U.C. Fleurier. I wil ge...

Well said about this hidden pearl…

With only 4500-5000 PCs per year at their LUC Manufacture, double or triple certified watches, 100% Swiss Made, what’s not to love? Thanks for your kind response, hope you find yours soon. Cheers 🍻

100 percent pure Swiss

 By: Weems@8 : May 8th, 2021-06:25
Yeah, pure and real. New to me they produce their own movements under the LUC Fleurier trade mark. I thought it was or is their more highly positioned watches.

See the link about FQF from fellow member chintu above..

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-07:44
5 criterias must be met 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I wil do

 By: Weems@8 : May 8th, 2021-08:59
i go.

You are a very lucky gentleman. That watch is superb.

 By: hoseachandra : May 8th, 2021-02:12
The combination of blue and brushed silver dial is refreshing, not to mention it is a steel, a first for LUC Fleurier.

I am very lucky and it happened just at that moment….

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-02:36
Maybe it’s meant to be….and it’s also my first sector dial too.

Here they are…pls see if it’s ok? 😉

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-02:34
...

Thank you!

 By: Horo_Traveler : May 8th, 2021-02:41
Beautiful watch with a great movement.

Would have loved a tiny change

 By: chintu : May 8th, 2021-08:21
The rotor could have been in Chopard’s fair-mined sourced red gold . This would have set a lovely contrast in the movement. Also if they had engraved the rotor for the anniversary, it would have been very appropriate.

That’s my thoughts too, the RG micro rotor looks good

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-15:05
To add contrast, but seems most LUC uses that except the QF certified ones, wonder why? If I look at the QF criteria under quality of finish (appreciate the link again), there is a paragraph: “Manufacturing procedures for decorations may be eithe mechanic...

You are very fortunate to get this rare piece

 By: chintu : May 8th, 2021-02:31
Karl Scheufele describes how they decided to create this watch for the LUC 25th anniversary in a recent YouTube interview with Wei Koh (revolution watch). The case design has been based on the vintage Chopards and for the first time in steel. Perhaps this...

Thanks for the info about the interview…

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 8th, 2021-02:41
I’ve searched every article about this watch but will check out the video. There was another RG version that was released many years ago, it’s on another post here. Glad to know the brand still cares a lot about its heritage and tradition.

Here is the link

One Singapore collector wants to buy all 25pcs!?!? Wow, I’m damn lucky to get this allocation!

FQF

 By: Weems@8 : May 8th, 2021-09:09
Yeah, it is a huge test.

Thanks for your kind words.

Congrats…

 By: p.boxster : May 8th, 2021-21:40
… you were very lucky!! It wasn’t supposed to be sold online but only via Boutiques and some ADs. I ordered it even before launch! AND you are double lucky as you got a special box. That‘s not the box for this watch but the box for the tourbillons!! Be ha...

I fully understand this situation is very unique…

Yes, you got the deluxe box...

 By: oliver.mellors : May 9th, 2021-23:50
...mine came in a much simpler, but still beautiful box. Not complaining though ;-)

Lol….as you can tell, I have no idea at all ….

Hence I’m clueless_collector 😬

Awesome that you got one, Raymond!

It is a beauty of a watch! Cheers, Alex

When you buy a Chopard....

 By: Mostel : May 14th, 2021-01:36
Or a Breguet... or a few others come to mind... you get treated the way you would certainly expect... like a King... with presentation boxes such as you have pictured... Patek, Rolex, etc etc, will NEVER treat you this way... so here is something really n...

That is absolutely amazing to hear such a high praise for Chopard...

I also agree and asked isn't this what we collectors want? Exclusive, low volume, discreet, great service, awesome quality you name it.... Let's hope all the best to the brand and let it get what it deserves. I have started to pay more attention to the br...
