1. Chopard 1860 LUC 2. Chopard Alpine Eagle XPS with LUC Movement 3. IWC Ingenieur - but at the price they're charging, you can get a Bulgari Octo Finissimo. The IWC has a generic movement and the Bulgari is just a better watch. For less than 1000 Euro pr...

I will give you my three winners once back from Geneva. But no doubt this Chopard is one of them.

Is this a salmon dial or pink as the name suggests?

 By: ArmisT : March 28th, 2023-06:16
It’s not a true pink at least, unless my eyes are completely shot.😳

For the Middle Eastern market! I bet that'll come out at Dubai Watch Week 2023!

I'm not sure what surprises Chopard has in store for us. With Date, it'd have an ugly date hole. But then they can charge an extra 500-1000 Euros!

 By: patrick_y : March 28th, 2023-19:21
The Middle Eastern market does prefer having a date and an automatic movement. This Chopard 96 movement is certainly capable of having a date - many 96 models have had dates. I'm actually really surprised the Alpine Eagle XPS LUC doesn't have a date, sinc...

But generally, I've seen the vast majority of shoppers in Silicon Valley at stores ask for two things when they shop for a "nice" watch; automatic first and date second. Even the Lange is ruled out sometimes due to its lack of an automatic by some. The Om...

I have a suspicion this watch will evoke feelings similar to a Jumbo

 By: MichaelC : March 28th, 2023-02:19
I'll know the moment I try it on, but I have a strong sense this one is going to feel quite special on the wrist.

It should!

 By: patrick_y : March 28th, 2023-03:25
The watch was designed to resemble the Genta watches and to be Chopard's equivalent to the AP RO Jumbo 15202 model. The Chopard arguably has a marginally better movement - COSC, Geneva Seal, and a Swan Neck Spring fine adjustment system.

I agree and I’m getting it to make it my trio of AEs

I am excited to see the micro rotor in this AE, and that I don’t have to get that 1860. Looking forward to 3 different dials, 3 movements 👌🏻 ...

Question for you guys

 By: TeutonicCarFan : March 27th, 2023-23:29
This lucent steel... does it hold up better to scratching or is it similar to rolex for example? The thing holding me back here is the polished center link if you will. Once those are scratched it drives me crazy. On brushed steel I could care less.

Yes it is harder than 916, not sure if it’s similar to Rolex 904…

 By: Clueless_Collector : March 28th, 2023-00:02
So far so good for me but I’m usually very cautious. Actually shiny steel is not easy to see scratches…eg my steel bracelet 5960/1A…there are many scratches but because it’s shiny, you cannot really tell from far.

It's seems more resistant to scratches then my rolex bracelets so far. Shiny center links still shiny.

I love my OG blue dial Alpine Eagle but this is quite nice indeed. Only reservation is slightly small size of sub-seconds dial and is it a bit too high? (Fixing that would require a smaller case…) Does anyone know the price of the new LUC 1860? Best E.
