New L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendôme One edition
In 2021, Chopard released a beautiful 8 pieces limited edition of the Officer case back 1860 XPS: rose gold case, dark blue dial and alligator strap, double index at 12 and hand engraved motif of the Vendôme column on the inside of the Officer case back (Ref. 161242-5001).
A few weeks ago, Chopard released a new 8 pieces « Vendôme One » limited edition in celebration of the opening of the new hotel adjoining the boutique, which was acquired in 2014: yellow gold case, Bering blue dial, Arabic numeral at 12, light brown calf strap with white stitching and hand engraved motif of the « Sun King » Louis XIV, who was the instigator of the project to build the place Vendôme (Ref. 161242-0002).
What do you think? I personally prefer the previous version’s color scheme and double index at 12 instead of the Arabic numeral. But I like the Sun King motif a lot and prefer it to the motif of the Vendôme column.

Not thrilled with the date but could live with it as it's well done with colored background.
I love the hunter back and dial guilloche and hands. Chopard is one of my favorites these days.
Yes this hunter case back is superb.
And I personally dislike the Arabic 12 more than the date window.

It is no secret that I love Chopard high end watches, especially the LUC and the XPS movements. I don't wear colored gold, have no issue with white or platinum, however whenever I bought a gild watch for its beauty, It sat in the safe. Not mt style, I gue...

which is even emphasised by the fact that a 12 pieces SHH edition was also released this year with a Royal blue dial, instead of Bering blue, and with the "regular" beehive hand engraved motif (instead of the Sun King one). ...

Yes, but no hunter case back
and it’s the downgraded version of the 96 caliber (no swan neck regulator and no Geneva seal). So, for me, it’s not even close to the Officer version.
I think it's gorgeous
But perhaps that yellow gold is too yellow. Might look amazing in real life...
