Have to agree with you on ...
the clasp to be gold as well ... perhaps there's a design or cost consideration.
If I remembered, it should not scratch the underside of the lugs, but the caseback, it is possible, if after removal, the watch is not seated on its side with the bracelet 'space-out'. To place the watch , dial-up position may not be a good idea, without the use of a pillow.
