Ferdinand Berthoud

Had the chance to see a friend’s Ferdinand Berthoud FB 2RE.

This is definitely a piece that looks 4x better in-person. If you’ve been on the fence about one of their pieces, I’d highly recommend seeing it in person as it will likely make you want to pull the trigger.

The curved enamel dial on the front side is mind blowing, as is the movement of course.

The dimensions look large on paper but it doesn’t look huge in-person.

The SJX piece on the watch covers what makes it special well.

IMO the other nice thing here is that you get all the benefits of an independent with the full financial backing of Chopard.

Thank you for the pictures. I sure look forward to whenever I am privileged to see one in the flesh 🙂🙏....

This solid dial Berthoud is my personal favorite.

I've only been able to see it behind a showcase window unfortunately. But, what a masterpiece! And I fully agree with you concerning the independent with very strong financial backing. Best, Emmanuel

The dream piece for me!

Never had the opportunity to see one in real life but I have the photo of the movement as a desktop background on one of the laptops. Just looking at it makes me happy!

Yes!

That's the one I saw there LAST week! I saw one last year that was--I believe--the same model the OP shared, which is more to my taste. But this watch is still pretty incredible. They also had a fantastic Krayon Anywhere, which I had never seen before, an...

Yes.

I saw the Krayon Anywhere too... I saw both at Cellini's in NYC, though before. Got me pretty riled up "horologically speaking"...so I ended up snatching 5140G here at home, awaiting delivery on Tuesday 🧐🤩😆

Oh that's pretty exciting!

I was surprised by how natural and wearable the Krayon felt, despite carrying such a heavy-duty complication... but 5140 will be even more so!
