Does it? It looks rather like a Classic Fusion and an Overseas Gen1 [nt]

Chopard Alpine Eagle – a reminiscence to the St. Moritz

By: Pour le Mérite : September 30th, 2019-12:59
Chopard introduces their new sports watch collection which resembles the St. Moritz collection from the 80s. Case material: Lucent Steel A223 (recycled steel, hypoallergenic), 18K rose gold, two-tone Case diameter: 41 mm, 36 mm Dials: blue, grey, white Mo...

Well...

A german member spotted a window display case in Zurich and then proceeded to do some research and found the article.

ok, thanks [nt]

The dial looks great

The rest, I'll need to see in person. I didn't expect a bracelet so outwardly similar to the first generation Vacheron Overseas. This watch is less likely to be compared to the 1980s St. Moritz than one or two haut-de-gamme steel models (one in particular...

Yes I agree the bracelet resemblance to the Gen 1 Overseas, which is not really a bad thing.

For some reasons, Vacheron stopped making that. I’m pretty excited that Chopard is making a beautiful bracelet somewhat reminiscent to design of Dino Mondolo ...

Received an email about this new piece a few days ago, with a video outlining the history of the original timepiece.

Having set the stage, I have to say I’m liking the new version. It’s obviously going to get a certain amount of flak about the various styling cues it has “copied”. Can’t help but think even at the price point, the movement bridges are looking a bit too p...

I’ll be the first to say it.

Looks like the 15202 and the 5711, had a baby....

Did the brands really ran out of designers with great ideas ????

Same copycat watches all over again, blue dial still case . Cliche ! . I get that a “sports “ watch has to meet certain criteria but come on .... Okay , I’m just thinking loud.

It’s been a trend the recent years and people seem to like it.

Only few that are critical towards it. Some brands get flagged for it while others get extremely praised. Blancpain *cough cough“

?

Does Blancpain have a steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet, in which case I must have missed something ? ...or does your comment relate to something else?

Understood

Interestingly it is Cartier, the brand that is probably least discussed here, that appears to me to have made the most efforts to come up with original design ideas over the past 10-12 years, in keeping with its more than 100-year history of pushing the b...

Love the ad! [nt]

Despite being similar to other watches...

I like the design. I can see the resemblance to the St Moritz. The only eyesore is the date window. I don't understand the angle.

The angle is retained from the revised version of the St Moritz, in 1998.

The same too for the lumed appliqués on the dial.

I'm ok with it now...

It's strange. I love Blancpain and while I don't like their date windows either, I can live with it. Here it seemed more severe at first but I'm getting used to it. I know they're dressier but I would love to have seen one of their micro-rotor movements i...

Since it's already out

Here’s a few pictures of the 41mm grey dial I took yesterday in my local boutique ...

Here’s the 36mm blue dial

...

41 without date will be a great watch...

They use same system for screws like the ROO as I see the screws are aligned?

I like the two tone large

Looks nice Source: Chopard ...

I think arabic numerals would be a nice update for this new collection.

I like many of the details, and know the old ones, but don't care for the Romans (numerals, that is).

+1 good idea [nt]
