Unexpected purchase last Saturday @Auction

Hi all,
So this one was a bit of surprise to me as I was watching the last Watches of Knightsbridge live online auction last Saturday as was interested in a couple of pieces when this popped up and caught my interest. It is a Pasha 2308 from 1998 and is just 35mm in 18k White Gold with a white gold deployment and is very unusual as it has the usual minute square in the middle in diamonds and a diamond on the crown protector to. My original thoughts was it would be a nice watch for my mother and that was my initial intention on buying it to my surprise I was the only bidder and it went for the low reserve at what I consider a very good price. On arrival I was really surprised at it's condition it is like brand new and doesn't appear to have been worn at all there are no marks anywhere on the watch at all and the deployment clasp is still really stiff even the grey strap that I thought I would need to replace is like brand new. On picking it up not only was I surprised at it's weight but also how small it seemed after being used to my Apollo 8 @44.25mm and my Chopard Luc Sport @40mm. But to my great surprise even after wearing it for only a few hours I got used to the size its strange how that works oh and another shock was the fact it fitted my wrist perfectly. There is also one other strange thing which is their is an inscription on the back in Italian which translates to "To the Doctor" Papa and is dated 02.12.98. The one other thing that I really like about this version of the Pasha is that the date is face on and not at an angle like most of them that I have seen. Anyway here are some more photos of my new arrival.

The only one that bit on it. The magic of the moment. Yesterday i saw a rare Piaget at an auction. It was a watch i like, and i watched the bits. My unwritten laws forbid to bit. There was enough interest in the Piaget, so it was sold at some €1800. If i ...

The inscription is mysterious and conjures a million potential stories of the history of the watch.

Interesting catch Marc! It looks very nice on your wrist.

The inscription adds charm and some intrigue to the piece. It suggests it was a present from a dad to his doctor daughter, may be for her graduation day? In any case it’s a great catch and more important is that you are delighted with it. Are you finally ...

Thanks for the kind comments

@Abel It will be my mothers new watch although I may well borrow it once in a while as have quite enjoyed wearing it myself. Marc

My big pleasure Marc! What a nice gesture from you to your mother. I´m sure she will be delighted with this present, and will enjoy so much as a very special watch coming from you.
