Tank MC or Tank Louis Cartier or ..................

Jun 11, 2016,23:07 PM

Hi Marcio,

If I would have responded a few days earlier, I would have said Tank Louis Cartier,
but now I know in which region and climate you live, I would say that the Tank MC is
probably a better choice. Since it matches an easy going lifestyle with short sleeves and light clothes.
It is a stronger watch and had enough Cartier DNA to be a real Cartier.
You could even go for the, a bit harder to find, Tank MC with blue dial, that I find really cool and different.

Now I do not want to mess up your discussion about the decision between the Tank MC and Tank Louis Cartier,
but there is another Tank that may be interesting to for you and that is the Tank Anglaise in steel with steel bracelet.
The bracelet is very well made, comfortable and ideal in a warmer climate. The crown, build in the brancard of the case,
was inspired from the Centre watch, from the early years, so a real Cartier detail. The watch is pictured here in a large and in a XL
version and in steel gold, but it is also available in all steel.

Good luck with your decision and keep us posted with your final choice.

GEO

Dear new friends I am struggling with a choice between these two options. Here is a picture of the second one I forgot to take a picture with the LC Main considerations I'm making on LC: + a classic, refined watch. Maybe the quintessential Tank + slim, di...

I would choose the LC, because i dont like the date window in the MC. For me, the tank musnt have a date. Also, I like the more rectangular shape better and the slimmer profile. André

What do you think about the Cartier Tank Basculante grand model in SS? If you like, you can buy one with a see through back... but it is hard to find one today as they are no longer available and the back display was only available for the French market. ...

I went thru the same decision making process back in 2014. I got the Tank Louis Cartier XL ultra thin in pink gold finally. It is much purer imho although the Tank MC is a lot more modern with features like date and sapphire case back which is of course p...

I can only speak from my personal experience. The Tank MC wears comfortably on my wrist. I just received it on Sunday as a gift and I must tell you I absolutely enjoys wearing the watch. All-in-all, I feel that this is a Cartier. Also, just a FYI, when I ...

Cartier movement vs Piaget movement

marcio, The others have given their ideas and votes between the tank LC and MC watches. For many years, Cartier fans have been asking for a Tank LC with mechanical movement because recently, they only came with quartz movements. Meanwhile, they introduced...

on your last point. The heart rules in this instance.

I would choose the LC without any doubt...

Because I find it more in the spirit of the Tank... Don't get we wrong, the Tank MC is a great watch with the efficient in-house movement. But it is a question of charm and the handwind movement is perfect for this type of watch. Fx

The Tank MC Chrono? I like it more than the standard MC, although I'm biased because I have the chrono version. It's a very nice watch. For the standard MC, I think the black dial version looks pretty cool in the photos I've seen. Despite my bias, I would...

I tend to agree with most of you that considered the LC the true heir of the Tank heritage and is definitely a timeless classic. In fact, I got this beautiful gift from the Cartier boutique and they seem to agree with you as well As you can see, this is t...

I think you are setting yourself up for lusting after the LC at a later date Marcio. One of the great things about the LC is that there is nothing unnecessary, including the amount of metal used. While it's more expensive than the SS MC, it's actually qui...

Geo thanks for your input. I went and tried the Tank Anglaise but imho departs a bit too much from the original Tank and also seemed a bit bulky in my wrist. I have not decided yet but will give it a try on both later this week. I am also looking at the o...

100 Years

 By: Geo : June 13th, 2016-13:28
As far as now Cartier never pre announced these jubilee models. In 2012 there was no special Tortue to celebrate the anniversary of that important model. In 2017 The Tank Normale will be 100 years, well that model was not even part of the CPCP collection ...
