Pulled out a watch I haven't worn in a while today...

The Cartier Santos Dumont (W1527751) from the Collection Privée Cartier Paris. It is a ultra-thin manual wind watch with a great fit and fantastic heritage.

The original Cartier Santos-Dumont watch was created in 1904 for famed aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont himself. Its wrist-mounted position allowed him to consult time easily during flight whilst its square dial, visible screws and pure design reflected Santos-Dumont’s forward-thinking nature that led him to conquer the skies. The Santos-Dumont is the watch of a man who set his heights high.

Always on the lookout for the two platinum variations (one with salmon dial)…

This model - or rather a slightly older version with enamel dial - was my first Cartier and still a watch I really enjoy wearing. It's wafer thin profile is juat amazing! Here in two-tone with white gold bezel. Enjoy! ...

Absolute beauty...

but knowing Cartier crowns, must be challenging to wind.

The 2020 models have a bigger and more vintage looking crown

and the winding is a pleasure. I agree that the winding of the CPCP models is a bit hard. GEO

Both are beautiful!

Cartier will become more and more interesting again, I suppose.
