What a wonderful watch dear Captain! I love the Tank Americaine and this particular variant is truly breathtaking.

Agree that the "C" on the tourbillon is a superb detail which adds to the charm of this magnificent watch.

Mine is a more modest variant but it wishes to say hello!

Thanks a lot for calling our attention to this stunning watch!!

Best cordial regards, Abel

Power and beauty …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : April 8th, 2022-11:50
The Tank Américaine Flying Tourbillon has all the classic Cartier design details whilst still remaining contemporary. The manual winding calibre 9452 MC powers this Geneva Seal, flying tourbillon, 19 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour, power reserve of ap...

Power and beauty is a very accurate characterization.

How long ago was this released? The new Tank Chinoise models are hard to ignore, but this model is impressive in its own way. Thanks for showing.

Can you believe ….

It was 2008 and still looking good. It was also available in rose gold.

It received a very positive reception …

I had the privilege of trying it on at a Cartier event 👀

My thoughts? Would like to own it!

A very strong looking watch and top elegant.

It certainly is elegant …

and a strong presence on the wrist. I can definitely see you rocking this one my friend 🥂

It's very very nice!

It's very very nice! However, call me crazy, but I actually like the simple non-tourbillon version JUST AS MUCH! What's wrong with me? The tourbillon ads a lot of technical complexity, and the non-tourbillon version doesn't have a Geneva-Seal movement. Bu...

Hilarious!

These are my sentiments as well. I don't know if I can 'intellectualize it', but with Cartier, I tend to prefer their 'plain' non-complication timepieces.... Perhaps it is because their design language, by default, imbues them with a certain character and...

Totally okay to go with that gut feeling!

I'm starting to like plain non-complication timepieces in general. Sometimes a "plain" watch can be super elegant. A lot of these other things are superfluous. And all the calendars on my watches are off because they've been taken off the winder and are h...

That's exactly why....

I promised myself never to own more than 6-7 luxury watches at any one time.... It just becomes too impractical, and literally impossible to actually use them on a remotely regular basis. I am not one who's going to put half-a-dozen luxury watches in a ba...

I agree. Too many pieces is too many.

Although that makes me a hypocrite. I've got watches that I haven't worn in over a year!

;)

I was in a similar place many years ago (toward the end of the 2000s), and that's when I decided to make a 'clear-cut' pact with myself related to the purchase and use of luxury watches.... Cheers, Filip

Ah, yes,

I bought my OG Speedmaster in 2006, close to 16 years ago! That was my first high-horology watch purchase, and even back then I remember thinking to myself I wouldn't want to own more than three luxury timepieces, but whom was I kidding ........

Hi Patrick …

As a general rule, I feel that a tourbillon spoils that aesthetic of the dial. However in this case the Cartier “C” is a cool design detail. Hope you have a great weekend.

I agree! It does create an interruption or a "nakedness" to a dial.

I did make an exception for that Vacheron Constantin 6000T I reviewed, I found that watch wonderful, even with the exposed Tourbillon which is normally against my personal choice. But generally, I like my tourbillons to be hidden from view, kind of like h...

Very impressive...

...the design elements here are great...

Thank you for your thoughts on this one …

I completely agree with you.

Wise words …

The calibre 9452 MC is a wonderful Flying Tourbillon

 By: Geo : April 8th, 2022-17:43
a caliber that founds its way to many other Cartier creations and I am glad that it returned to the collection this year in the new Pasha de Cartier. But in my opinion, this XXL Tank Americaine case was a misser, despite the fact that the watch looked ver...

The calibre 9452 MC is a good looking flying tourbillon. Back in 2008 large case sizes were on trend, but in my opinion not just at the lower price range. I still have fond memories of seeing this watch at an excellent launch party ;-)) Hope you have a gr...

Good to see this one Abel and it looks very good on your wrist. Have you had this one for many years ?

Thank you so much dear Captain for your kind compliments. I got this watch about three years ago but as several watches bought in the last years I´m putting them in use in the last few months...
