Retirement or Abeyance? Pasha 42

Nov 04, 2013,05:44 AM

Dino944,

Thank you for the additional information.

I smiled when you stated "retirement" for the Cartier Pasha 42 watch.  I suspect it may be in abeyance because the House of Cartier has a habit of bringing back old names.  wink

Remember the retired Crash, Crocodile, Panthere, Tortue names etc for some periods of time in the past....?

Thank you again.

Regards,

MTF

Wow that watch needs a better place than your drawer. I find it one of the best looking Pasha's, Cartier created, without the diving bezel and date window, we saw on the 38mm models. Love that plain look. GEO...

Hey Geo, Great photo. I just noticed the buttons on the briefcase match the crown on the Pasha. Based on the texture of the briefcase I was going to guess its an LV...but the buttons almost made me wonder if it was made by Cartier. Either way, very nice p...

Hi Dino, the leather in this pictures indeed looks a bit like the Epi, leather that Louis Vuitton is using. But it's the Pasha briefcase by Cartier, with two crowns of the Pasha, on the lock. Good use of the strong design elements of the watch. GEO

Thanks for the briefcase info...

I've never seen one by Cartier at my local boutique. I was "tricked" by the Epi style leather, but that should help the briefcase look great for many years (smooth leathers show scratches very quickly and easily compared to textured designs). I love the u...

Hi Geo, I saw your photos of your Pasha 42 and would like to ask you some questions about that watch. Do all of the Pasha 42 have the guilloche square on the dial? Another concern I have about the model is that does the plain automatic version solely use ...

Pasha 42 movement

The time only Pasha 42 used a JLC movement. It did not use an ETA movement. Yes, the time only Pasha 42 has been discontinued for a few years , or as they say at Cartier boutiques, it's been "Retired." So pre-owned is currently the only option if you want...

Term retirement is relative...

 By: Dino944 : November 4th, 2013-06:33
Yes, Cartier has a way of bringing back various models, so perhaps its retirement will be more like that of Michael Jordan ; ) I found the term "Retirement" entertaining, when I first heard it. Some years ago a sales associate at the Chicago boutique noti...

Indeed you should wear it more often

The Pasha chrono and automatic are probably the best execution of the Pasha in recent times. They are more elegant and refined than the Seatimer and less feminine than the 38 mm Pasha watches. - SJX
