New acquisition

I know there are people who prefer the medium version. It was my first choice too when I went to the store. But it felt awkwardly small on my wrists when I tried them. 35mm seems to be too small given the square case shape, compared to a 36mm Datejust which looks and feels right. So I settled for large. It’s still looks good with a lot of strap seen from the top of the wrist thanks to the prominent square shape. A sign that it’s not too big for me.

There’s a lot to like in this model. It’s definitely slim enough to go under the cuff. The case is curved and sits nicely on the top of my wrist. Felt like I’m wearing nothing. The leather strap is soft and comfortable. No comment on the bracelet yet as it is currently sized to my wife’s wrist (we’re sharing). But putting back the links is fast due to the mechanism.

Dial may be plain and textureless aside from the painted markers but it’s made out of opaline. This opaque glass material is pleasing to the eye and has little glittering speckles when closely inspected.

I know the Santos is available with a range of different straps, but this in my opinion, looks marvelous. Congrats with your Santos and please post a picture on bracelet as well. GEO

Congratulations! Mine says hi.

The Santos is very versatile, can be worn on any occasion and with any suit. It was on my list for two tone watch (the two tone medium one), unfortunately the dial is not enough "pop up" for a dress watch that i'm looking for. Cartier really doing great i...
