Cartier handled this issue very well. I visited the boutique today and the staff where very surprised and apologetic. They took in the watch and asked for a few hours to communicate the resolution method as per Richemont. 2 hours later the ME regional director called and apologized and explained this was highly unusual and an investigation would be launched to identify how this could happen and prevent similar issues in the future.
I told him it’s a man made product and every process leaves room for human error, I asked for a new dial rather than having this one fixed, he said that he would not do that but instead offer me an new watch to be delivered within the week, he also said they would compensate me for the inconvenience. I assume a pair of cuff links or some such.
In any case, great response overall. I am looking forward to receiving my new watch.

Just got home from the Cartier boutique

And noticed an unacceptable imperfection on the dial. Really surprised Cartier let this slip through QC and the various distribution chain! I am sure you have noticed the dial scratch to the bottom left of the 3 ...

Yes very odd for a branch with as much as pedigree as Cartier, I would be surprised if such a flaw was discovered with a loupe let alone one that can be seen with the naked eye. I informed them that I am bringing the watch back, I will keep you updated on...

You shocked, i feel it. Your picture show the error, i can see it clearly. Good that Cartier picked up the problem fast and apologized. I am curious how the error free watch wil look like.
