Cartier Monopoussoir CPCP

From 1998 – 2008 Cartier brought back historic designs across the entire spectrum of the collection from the Tank Chinoise to the Cintree to create the Collection Privée Cartier Paris. The monopoussoir references from the Collection Privée Cartier Paris have recently seen a significant resurgence in interest. One of the reasons the monopoussoir stood out in the collection is because of the partnership with Techniques horlogères Appliquées (THA) for the 045 MC movement. The company had three future luminaries in the independent watch industry - François-Paul Journe, Denis Flageollet and Vianney Halter.

There are many beautiful variations of the Tortue Monopoussoir featured in the forum, but one seen a little less often is the Tank Monopoussoir from 2007 and 2008. The watch was issued first in rose gold and then in white gold. They were both extremely limited in their production and rarely are seen at auction or for sale.

The watch is featured prominently on a book written by one of our esteemed forum members and friend George Cramer. If you are interested in this watch and learning more about ‘La Maison’, I strongly encourage picking up his book - Cartier - The Gentleman's files.

It is great to see the renewed interest in the watches during this period. They are some of my favorites.

And I've got to say it: this one is cooler.

Thanks so much for your kind words!

Absolutely great to see your Tank Mono Poussoir. This is a watch we seldom see here or in the wild. I was so surprised to learn that the design of this Tank dates back to the twenties. George

Beautiful!
