In long: if you are not a watch dealer, but a collector (and will wanna enjoy your watches) watches are not a investment they are a collection of yours, and you should buy accordingly something that you love, not something that will increase price.
About this cartier, I don’t know the exact model but Cartier usually tend to hold pretty good their prices, I’m shocked you can get this for half off, especially white gold while being 42-45mm (usually smaller mm you can get better deals as style is now big).
About buying pre owned I’ve had a very terrible experience and I don’t like to buy anymore pre owned, unless your ready to service someone else’s crap and have used strap without to be able to get oem straps, it might be just me, but you have to be ready to get hot after buying that there’s parts broken and strap not being able to replace with original.

For a white gold version, 8K is not a bad price at all. The down site is, that this same watch, with exact the same dial, is also available in steel. GEO
