I definitely agree with your titanium sentiments, as that's the only version I've really worn at length.

Long time experience with different materials of the Octo Finissimo

The different materials available on the Octo Finissimo offer a quite diverse wearing experience. As I've owned 4 of those materials for quite some time now, I thought I'd post my experience with them. I do not own carbon or platinum variations, so I can'...

Your favorite?

I do like them all and the differences I‘ve described are not huge. I found myself wearing Titanium the most, so it‘s my favorite.

But I like „weightless“, thin watches and I do not care about water resistance as much on these. So there will be others, who prefer different materials based on personal preferences.

Good to know!

I have the titanium model myself, and I like it a lot. I got the steel "S" version as well, but haven't started wearing it yet. As mine is an all polished version, so it's a bit more of a special occasion piece. I still like the blue version you have the ...

If you emphazise „in some sense“.

I do not own a Nautilus, but two AP15202 and I don‘t see the Octo as a well fit replacement. I‘d rather see it as an addition. Yes, it‘s also a blue dialed integrated steel sports watch, but the case size (really thin, flat and rather large), design and f...

No matter what you choose, you can never get wrong

Finissimo is a state of wrist 🙏 I partially disagree when you say that the steel versions are less Finissimo, because I've found them surprisingly more comfortable than the titanium, which is undoubtedly THE flagship. I can confirm that none of mine have ...

Thank you for the addition.

I also do only partially agree with you 😉 While they‘re all good choices on their own, you can get it wrong, if you do not choose based on your personal preferences. Some prefer weightless, extra thin watches. Others like more heft, robustness and water r...

Side by side

I guess you can still swim with them

I would think Ti first and ceramic next. Steel or gold would be last. The OFs are cool for being thin and should stay thin. Also that gun metal effect from ti is just so nice. Best Gatsby

I wouldn't swim with Ti nor with any 30m water resistance watch...

 By: patrick_y : April 9th, 2023-21:15
30m is really just for rain, humidity, and light force accidental splashes. Probably not ideal for swimming. If you want to swim, I'd probably recommend that you use the versions with 100m water resistance. Which would be good with a freestyle stroke or b...

Thanks Stefan and Patrick

Guess I’m a bit more of a dare devil Best Gatsby

Be careful!

Sometimes it’s better to err on the side of safety.

Excellent, thank you!

I'm seriously considering one of these, they're so fantastic, and so wonderfully their own thing. The titanium one, I'd thought for sure, was the best version, but lately I've started considering the ceramic.

Let us know your thoughts when you try them on!

 By: patrick_y : April 9th, 2023-21:17
I've only seriously considered the titanium version and never really considered the ceramic version. Thus, I never really tried on the ceramic version.

Very insightful

Thanks for sharing. I like Ti but I had tried the OF in Platinum on a black leather strap and it was amazingly comfortable, I should have bought it then!

Yes only 30m

 By: MiguelFlash : April 9th, 2023-21:06
I compared it to the titanium before purchasing. I chose the steel primarily because I liked how “white” the steel looks and it has a bit more heft. I have not tried the latest steel OF so can’t offer an opinion.

Ahh! This model is now discontinued and super hard to get!

Very cool watch! Another "quintessential" model. At first they wanted the color of aluminum. But the problem was that they couldn't make the watch out of aluminum as aluminum can be less rigid and slightly soft - making that matte texture a little likely ...
