Bulgari Chronograph GMT
Just took delivery from the Vancouver Boutique.
Amazingly light. Amazingly flat. Amazing price.
Not classical handsome. It's modern and purposeful.
These days, every brand has complications; GMT, worldtimer, chronograph, PC, AC. The fun comes in making the complications user friendly. For this watch, the pusher at 9pm advances the local time in increments of one hour.
Arrive at your destination, and just click the pusher the required number of times. Without disturbing the running seconds. No mess, no fuss.
The titanium bracelet is comfortable. I have small 6.5” wrists. They removed just two links to resize the bracelet. That left the watch a little loose, but the watch seems to cling to the skin. Does not jiggle.
Very nice movement seen on the back. Platinum ring spacer around the movement.
Good anti-glare legibility. It is easy to read the sub-dials on the clean 42 mm dial. That said, the crystal window seems to smear easily.
Came with a nice box. The manual is for the Chronograph/Date watch. Does not contain instructions for the GMT.
IMO, the key weakness of the package is the clasp. No release switch or a safety lock. What I would expect from a $30 watch. In view of the reported failures of the clasp, I was hesitant.
I should mention that I had also tried on the ceramic version time-only. I passed on that watch because of the clasp. Worried that the clasp could fail and the ceramic watch hit the ground.
