I guess I get that, least I think I do.

In my case though, I think the issue was pressure on the bracelet from my wrist, notwithstanding, the sharp corners.

The bracelet consistently tugs/pulls on the ceramic balls which hold the bracelet secure against the case, after a while, I think that the balls gave after so much continued pressure and snapped.

I never banged or nicked the piece against everything. So, I guess, that is the conclusion I came to.

Octo coming back from Switzerland...

 By: K-Lo : July 24th, 2020-11:25
Hello My Dear Purists - just providing you all with an update on my Ceramic Octo saga. So it turns out the bracelet had to be fixed in Switzerland due to COVID, thanks again again again again COVID! Gone since February, damn time flies, like seriously. An...

He is an upcoming singer client of mine that I do legal services for. So, you know, typical starving artist trying to make it? Maybe when he hits it big time.

Nothing, hit nothing, I just used it under normal wear.

I mean I used it on the elliptical and all but, I don’t know. Being stupid thin and ceramic maybe asks for trouble? It could be I have weird shaped wrists and maybe that causes continuous pressure on the ceramic balls, don’t laugh LOL, who knows. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸΌβ€...

I'll tell you a true story, well, at least, according to me.

When I first got the piece brand new, it was all wrapped in clear plastic. I started to take the clear plastic off, you know, from the case, and the bracelet and all of that. As is pealed the plastic off, I said to myself, like literally, that this case c...

Rado has ceramic watches of that size and they're okay...

 By: patrick_y : July 24th, 2020-12:40
The main thing is that the Bulgari designed this watch with a lot of sharp corners. The sharp corners are weaker. Rado watches have less sharp corners and some are rounded.

I guess I get that, least I think I do.

Bathyscaphe is much better with no date window

 By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : July 24th, 2020-13:15
who's writing is someone (me) who's always purchased watches with date only. Well, RO wasn't a bad choice to begin, but the Finissimo titanium is even better. It fits like a glove, titanium is warm and light. Ceramic is brittle, likely and hopefully they ...

Check out the new stainless steel model Octo,

If you haven’t already. Maybe your true replacement for a RO. ...

Still waiting to look at it (not delivered yet)

But honestly the titanium will be my first choice. One of first titanium watches I've ever tried was a ROC boutique Paris, 50 pieces /world. That was a LE. The biggest improvement in the new steel case is the screw down crown

I was considering this watch but you know my way of using watches! I'm glad it's on its way back to you. That Bathyscaphe, though! Just perfect!

Welcome Sire!

Yes, ceramic, while scratch resistant,πŸ‘Ž can’t handle pressure, literally.

Let us know how the repair went once you get it back.

I love the new octo from an engineering perspective. I had my eye on the ceramic and wanted to take the plunge. then your post back when the damage occurred completely scared me out of the water. Interested to see how it goes. Fantastic looking piece.

Will do Sire!!! [nt]
