Give me light !

Aug 11, 2024,15:39 PM

Like the CTS of yesterday’s post, this is another titanium case and bracelet which comes in pretty much featherlight (in terms of watches generally) on the scales.

Unlike the CTS there’s obviously no complication here.  But also unlike the CTS that lightness here is combined with thinness.  I do believe that this combination allows for what is a larger squared case to wear very well on even smaller wrists.

Of course, adding Mo’s art (laser engraved) takes this one up several notches from the base OF.

(No editing in these photos, this is just how the light hits this watch sometimes.  Other times certain light can make it appear more washed out or faded.  Either way, I’m still very much hooked on this design).

This one, the OF, seems to vary wildly by wrist type. I think a flat wrist, even a smaller one, can hold this watch OK.

Certainly a very distinctive piece 👌🏻👍🏻

And like you I am a fan of thin and light watches and it’s good to see that more players are experimenting in the area. Sadly many believe that this needs to be remunerated out of proportion but there are some exceptions 😊👍🏻

And yet the “base” Octo F is a bargain in comparison.

Interestingly I keep seeing that Omega on more athlete’s wrists. Watching the men’s high jump last night I saw another one. Maybe they need to give them away given the aggressive pricing !

It’s a stand out for sure.

Nothing quite like them. I still have this idea of having some Rolex heavily engraved (all over the case, maybe bracelet too). It was a plan from several years ago that never took off (because the engraver’s profile took off a little and time/pricing beca...

Funny, I’ve seen that one somewhere before.

But yes, that’s maybe a little more intense than the vibe I’d planed. My plan to have skylines of two different cities along the flanks of the case, with some additional engraving there too, then also across the bezel and bracelet. One day I may revisit. ...

A nice canvas for it.

I was going to do it with a 36mm OP “Grape” dial. It was that first iteration of the OPs and the dial was more gold than grape. At the time buying the watch and having the engraving done would have come in less than the cost of a Sub.
