BVLGARI Diagono Professional Acqua Scuba: Photo Report

May 23, 2010,23:59 PM

The Bulgari Diagono Professional Acqua is available in either a stainless steel or 18K yellow gold case, in time and date or chronograph versions.  All models in this line are water resistant to 300 meters.  The case measures 42mm and has a unidirectional rotating bezel.

Our photo report (provided by Kong) is the stainless steel and rubber strap version.

The Acqua Scuba uses the Bulgari B77 automatic winding mechanical movement with 21 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vph.  The power reserve is 42 hours and the movement is an officially certified chronometer.

A closeup of the black dial with the Bulgari sea-wave treatment.  Circular luminescent indices are hand applied  along with large "12" and "6" numerals.  The hour and minutes hand are luminous and rhodium plated for optimal readability under low light conditions.

The brushed stainless steel case gives the Diagono Acqua Scuba a sporty yet elegant finished look and the scalloped radius cuts along the bezel allows for an easy grip

The case is securely fastened with a solid stainless steel caseback with the Bulgari sea wave pattern to match the dial.  I like how the BVLGARI-BVLGARI split circular symbol is used throughout the watch.  IMO it's placed nicely on the dial to mark the hour indices, and then again in the shape of the stainless steel crown and lugs, and also engraved on the caseback logo.

The bracelet used is the Bulgari black rubber articulated strap with stainless steel central links.

The 3 blade deployant buckle with an engraved BVLGARI logo.

I don't know if I like those circular screw slot hour markers. I find them a little distracting because my eye wanders all over the place when looking on the dial because of the screw slot hour markers and weave pattered dial. I think an all black dial wo...

but I still prefer the "simple" style of the first Scuba in the late 90´s. To me, the new one shows so many details (some I like, some I don´t like), but the old one shows the pure essence of the case design. Oliver

Thats a nice watch!
