Bulgari Hotel Number Three: Location - Charming London

In 2004, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts opened the doors of its first hotel in Milan. In a somewhat masculine and minimalistic styled space, a renovated palazzo that dates back to the 1700s, the Bulgari Hotel Milan provides a calm hideaway amidst the bustling commercial and cultural city center locale. Two years later, Bulgari introduced its second hospitality venture to the traveling world, the stunning Bulgari Resort in Bali. A serene sanctuary perched 150 meters above the sea, the resort is emblematic of the tropical exoticism of the Orient. And now in spring of the coming New Year, Bulgari will expand upon its luxury properties with the addition of the new Bulgari Hotel and Residences London.

Located in Knightsbridge, overlooking Knightsbridge Green, the new Bulgari hotel takes the site of the former Normandie Hotel. The luxury establishment will be styled in the same contemporary manner as the original one in Milan. The 78-room London hotel will feature a 2000 square meter spa and fitness center including a private holistic spa, 25 meter indoor pool and hydrotherapy steam rooms.

The major UK based architectural firm, Squire and Partners was hired for the project and legendary designer, Antonio Citterio who also worked on the Milan hotel, will be responsible for the interior design of the guest rooms. The designers took inspiration from Bulgari's history with silversmiths and jewelry focusing on silver as a prominent design theme. The theme is evident throughout the public spaces of the hotel as well as the guest rooms. The hotel also includes six luxury apartments – each more than 200 square meters large, a penthouse, a restaurant at the lower ground level with a sweeping staircase supported by a silver lit balustrade, a lounge, bar and spirit room. In addition to the already impressive list of amenities there's also a ballroom, private members club, business center and meeting rooms - including a 50-seat screening room.

The six Bulgari Residences at the Bulgari Hotel & Residences London, will be sold through Christie's International Real Estate and offer spectacular views over Hyde Park and Knightsbridge. Each of the residences will have two generous bedrooms, as well as impeccably furnished living and dining areas that are ideal for relaxing or more glamorous entertaining. The homes will combine elegance with convenience, all with access to the services of the hotel below. Residents and guests at the Bulgari Hotel & Residences, London, should expect a flawless level of service from the valet parking, helpful concierge, first rate spa therapists, discreet security, and a staff dedicated to servicing the residents' every need.

A growing list of designer brands such as Giorgio Armani, Versace, Ferragamo, Missoni and Christian Lacroix are entering the luxury hospitality business. Bulgari is also part of the exclusive group and will be the first of the brands to open an establishment in London. The company is still putting finishing touches on what might just be one of the most glamorous hotels in Knightsbridge yet. Construction is currently underway at the site and the hotel's completion date is expected to be in spring of 2012. As for room rates, expect them to be upwards of 700 pounds a night. Further details are scarce at the moment but we can be assured that it will feature the contemporary style, outstanding design and finest materials for which Bulgari is famous. Stay tuned for the big reveal.
