Breguet

Another giant slayed, four score and ten giants still roaming…a quixotic quest to find pictures of all the Breguets listed in the 1923 Musée Galliera Breguet catalog lent by persons not named Sir David Salomons for my article: Centenaire de A.L. Breguet: mélange de bric et de broc…a hopeless endeavor by any measure, more-or-less doomed to fizzle…

…but once in a blue-moon fluke gifts a new unearthing…though not noted in the auction description (Hamburg, April 12, 2025), the recently offered Breguet No. 2823 was lent to the 1923 Breguet Paris expo (catalog # 84) by Comtesse de La Panouse; seldom such serendipity graces the hapless, horological dumpster-diver but tasty treats however dusty always savored.

Note: I do not think the watch sold and often if a Breguet appeared in the 1923 Breguet expo its appearance is noted in the auction description but not always as in the case of this watch.

Taschenuhr: Absolute Rarität, Breguet „Montre Medaillon Excentric“ No.2823 mit Originalbox, 1815 Ca. Ø 34mm, 18K Gold, guillochiert, extrem seltene, experimentelle Ankerhemmung mit Sicherheitsvorrichtung, guillochiertes Zifferblatt mit Datumsanzeige, dezentrale Zeitanzeige, originale Breguet-Zeiger aus Gold, originale goldene Uhrenkette und originaler Breguet Aufzugsschlüssel aus Gold, nummerngleiche Originalbox mit Fach für das Ersatzglas, Breguet Echtheitszertifikat, funktionstüchtig und hervorragend erhalten. Breguet nannte diese Uhren “Montre Medaillon Excentric”. In der Kombination mit einer Komplikation, wie in diesem Fall die Datumsanzeige sind diese Uhren außerordentlich selten.
