The Marine Chronographe Titane on bracelet
In my photo shooting during the Breguet exhibition at the International Maritime Museum in Hamburg I was keen to for the first time encounter the new Marine series in real life, with the icing on the cake being the new titanium bracelet.
The only model available on bracelet was the Marine Chronographe Titane, powered by calibre 582QA. I will do a report on the Marine series separately in a few days, so let’s concentrate on the bracelet and some basic impressions of this 42,3mm timepiece.
The unusual centered lug of the new Marine series has been a topic for debate since last year. With the bracelet the design works quite smooth I think...
When you handle the bracelet for the first time there’s an element of surprise about how light it is, despite you know it’s made of titanium. It is is haptic pleasure, very well executed and refined in its modest design language.
It features a hidden deployant clasp, opening asymmetrically. A remarkable aspect of it is that without exception all links are attached by an underside screw system.
The bracelet is all brushed, and it meets a case that is polished at the side. The lug is designed in an interesting way, reminding us of the nautical symbol for buoys, and with a brushed and polished finish it manages the transition very well.
This quick overview shall not totally spare out the multi layer slate grey dial of the Marine Chronographe Titane with its subtle sunburst finish starting from the Breguet signature. The many design references to the nautical world I shall explain in my upcoming post on the Marine series.
The case offers both polished and brushed elements, from the side you see the characteristic fluted middle case and the Chrono pushers reminding us of waves.
Finally, a gloved wrist shot of the Marine Chronographe Titane on bracelet.
I hope you enjoyed the quick review and the photos.
Cheers
Henrik
