So the wife throws a challenge

Aug 07, 2018,08:02 AM

...and I accepted it without thinking too much. Started with a discussion on fasting and what it signifies, and she challenged me to take up a "fasting" challenge. I readily accepted as I was thinking about food. Then the challenge was said - 42 days with one watch. Everything else stays in the bank :-| Not sure if I'll make it, but here's to day 2. Picture taken on Day 1 yesterday.

and good luck with the challenge! Let us know your daily progress and adventures here with photos. Btw, I’m on my fourth day with the Sinn. Don’t think I’ll be with it tomorrow tho 😬

We’ll keep our fingers crossed for you in that case :)

And the Breguet Marine is certainly a great choice!

It was a close toss up between this, the GS 305 and my JLC RDM. But I’m also going to be on holidays in between plus some off roading....

42 days?

Started on Monday and will end on Sept 16, which is Malaysia Day. And yes, today is Day 3 and I’m already thinking this is going to be a huge challenge. I’ve made it to 21 days I believe in my own previous test. This is double that.

I would have thought

that the real challenge would be to keep it on for less than 42 days Richard! I must be boring as hell as I find it extremely easy to keep a watch on for a prolonged period of time - my Patek 1530A has been worn daily for 2 months now and I recall the 720...

I have a feeling you may be right

And no, you’re not boring You just have too many nice watches, so the easiest thing to do is to stick with one and not have to make the tough decisions, much like how Steve Jobs wear the same black turtleneck so that he doesn’t have to spend time making c...

We both have some nice watches Richard! :-)

Your Ochs and Junior has sentimental value so you would never end up with only the Breguet. And I know how much you like your Glashutte and Grand Seiko 305 too. But keeping the Breguet on your wrist for 42 days will not be as difficult as you first envisa...

An excellent challenge and a fascinating watch for your eyes for 42 days.

Sadly, the weather in England has been so hot this summer (by British standards) that a watch on a bracelet has been essential and I have only one! So, it's been Rolex, Rolex, Rolex for 6 weeks. Good as the platinum-dialled Yacht-Master is, I'll be happy ...

It is actually Day 10

And I’m seriously enjoying this. I find this very peculiar for some strange reason
