No, you can change it out for a leather strap easily.
Also, the underside of the clasp is steel for durability.
The bracelet is the star
Combined with the dial it makes for a monochrome esthetic I've not seen elsewhere.
I will echo the sentiments...
...that is a fantastic bracelet. It looks very comfortable and must give a nice 'heft' to the watch. I would delete the date window if possible but the dial is a beauty either way.
