5527 should have been the Marine II
I feel the 5527 is so different from the 5827 they’re hard to compare. I wish Breguet had not discontinued the 5827. This reference certainly seems more “Breguet”. The 5527 has a very modern aesthetic. For me the best dial of the 5527 is the blue. It really comes alive in proper lighting. I think the only logical solution is to have one of each. I have seriously considered both references on multiple occasions but haven’t made the move. My desire for the VC Overseas Chrono has kept me at bay thus far. Here are few pics of some I’ve tried out.

The one on the left. IMO the only attractive aspect of the one on the right is the ocean wave motif.
But the Roman numerals, hands, date window location, case and lugs are better on the left.

Not even close for me : left!
Much more character and Breguet DNA in this earlier version of the Marine.

Prob agree with everyone else that the left one has a bit more character lol! p.s. like these left vs right posts, please keep them going!@
The consensus is that the new Marine is less preferable, but I think it's worth considering.
I find the chronograph the least compelling since it lost center minutes. For the other models, the new models are fun in person.
