I actually hide all my watches under a cuff if possible. They are really only for me, and I guess it's the opposite of a watch as status symbol, unless as a secret internal one. Maybe watch as psychological status symbol!

I was speculating that perhaps the metal, and the bracelet, meant that this watch likely attracted more eyes and curiosity. Hence the cuff cover.

I tend to go for cuff cover with certain watches, mostly to protect them but sometimes to hide them.

This is historic. I agree that I don’t like showing off what’s on my wrist. But this one might tempt me to turn full-out braggart. One of my earliest horological loves. I hope you keep it forever.
