Digging up an Old Thread

Sorry for the zombie thread response, but just wanted to throw out that I adore the early Type 20s (vs. the Type XXs, LOL) In any case, not sure if you thought about other producers for the same look and history.

Airain, Vixa, Dodane, J. Auricoste, and espeically Mathey-Tissot (who actually made the Breguet Type 20s) can all be had at a fraction of the Breguet price (well the M-T is about 5x as expensive as the others but still about half a vintage Breguet)

The type 20s have a really interesting history. Bit of trivia for all you Breguet buffs, Francois Bodet (who restarted the brand with the Chaumet brothers in the early 70s) made the call to stop producing the Type 20 since he was positioning the brand from a jewelry position and it wasn't until the launch of the ref. 3800 in 1995 that it came back from a ~20 year slumber.

A real tool watch, loaded with History: Not in my collection, bur high in my wish list. Breguet? Please, pretty please... That would be a great inspiration for a new Type XX! Best, Nicolas ...

Awesome!

I’ve got something similar (in heritage and look) coming at the end of next month. An exciting collab between our local watch club and an awesome watch brand. Stay tuned

Please tell us more!!!

It’s a small run. And the design is one that I dreamed of, but had little faith that the brand would take interest in it.

I look forward to taking delivery, in November, and sharing with the group.

on vintage military watches an interesting if functional flourish. Adds to the “cool”. It’s interesting how the histories of “high end” brands like Breguet (and of course others) are rooted in watches which are made for practical, “pedestrian” (perhaps no...

Well said, Justin.
