Yes, the watch is of a large size. But its capabilities are huge! It is both a musical alarm watch as well a musical on demand watch. There are pins under the dial that are used to play the melody. The watch you photographed plays Rossini's Musical Magpie. As the sonnerie plays the dial rotates, with the pins underneath stricking the sounding bars to produce the notes. Playing a melody is far more demanding than sounding the time in so far as pace is concerned. This watch has an ingenious magnetic regulator that is both silent and far more precise in regulating pace than traditional regulators. It's design is a watchmaking first. As well the watch has a liquid metal membrane inside the case back which functions as a sounding chamber for the music. Then on top of it all, it can play its melody for a full 80 seconds.
