The SLA 017 was only 14.1mm. Congrats as the fit looks good. I missed out on that one and didn't want to pay secondary pricing.

I've tried on the SLA 037 a few times, but couldn't convince myself to purchase. While the blue/grey dial is amazing, the thickness of 14.7mm feel right on my wrist.

The Bathyscaphe is closer to 10mm in comparison.

Modern Fifty Fathoms

I was recently reading shortys home's awesome FF summary: He didn't mention this iteration which is fair 😉. I think it is a Bathyscaphe first, Fifty Fathoms second. I'm glad BP used a clean simple dial and kept those vintage Bathyscaphe lugs. The view fr...

Addition by subtraction !

Superbly said. ;)

Difficult to make a great/recognizable “simple” design.

The key is to know when to stop subtracting!

The bracelet adds nicely to it’s character 👍🏻

Unfortunately I have had no chance to handle this one in the metal so far. I hope one day this will change 😉 Thank you very much for your feedback on my blog essay, appreciate it! Henrik

From 2019 I believe

No date

For the win !

☺️. In this case, I agree.

When the date is done with intention and good design… I’m down with that!

Of course. Staib matte steel bracelet with butterfly.

If I recall, from Holben’s fine watch bands (but can get from many stores).

I have a Seiko SLA017.

And while I can deal with the thickness, I’m not sure I like how shiny the rehaut is; I’m on the fence with this one. ...

Ah, didn’t realize there was a difference in the thickness.

I like the idea of a diver that’s only 10 mm thick.

For the SLA 037, the high beat movement makes it thicker than the other 62MAS limited editions.

For this Bathyscaphe, the 10mm thickness even includes a sapphire case back 👍 It’s not a 💯 % apples to apples comparison as the Seiko's SLA has a thick domed sapphire which does add to the dial appearance.

Ah, forgot about the Hi-Beat in that one.

Also good point about the domed crystal; I like that detail. That Blancpain looks great. I don’t believe I’d seen it before. I wish Glashutte made a black dialed Sea Q with smaller numbers, no fauxtina, and no date. That could be cool. Or a slightly small...

Agreed about the Sea Q and Polaris
