That’s the irony of it

The date function is something rather conflicting. To do away with it in a lot of sense, connects to the purists way of thinking about a time only watch. Yet for the average guy out there who wears a watch, it appears that buying a watch without a date function seems like you’re getting less for what you pay for. It’s a conflicting situation. For me I’d agree with you. Who cares about the date function. I wake up most days and I don’t even know which day of the week I live in.

And I ask myself why this model ?! Well, I’m always a vintage guy first and foremost, and ever since my gravitation towards 38-40mm watches, I decided to jump on a Bathyscaphe base...no vintage in sight yet.... Chilling out on a Saturday arvo with the Mar...

Perhaps Blancpain should pay attention

And make a non-limited FF without a date window in this size range? I'd buy one.

When it was present on the original model, why not? See the Barakuda. Both the original and the re edition have a date. It would be weird to have a faithful re edition without date.

BUT the same argument has to be taken in consideration when the original doesn't have a date. Why putting a date on the modern version which is clearly inspired from the original? See the Tribute to Milspec... I still don't get why they put a date in... B...

No issues with the Barracuda

The Milspec I agree with you. But still it’s a lovely watch. The dAte window just bugs me. Argh conflicting

I have seen the IWC and like the all-black case they did with that edition. Low key and looks great.
