Thank you everyone...

For the kind and thoughtful comments. As expressed, the complications really do not seem to detract from the readability of the hours and minutes.  Both main hands and the seconds hand are lumed and are as visible at night as the time-only version.  The big dial helps here too.  I have to say that while I've never been much bothered by dates at 4:30, having the lunette pointer date on this one is a pleasure.  Surprisingly easy to read but preserving the symmetry of the dial and adding an additional, discrete pop of red.  While I will dive with it (it would be a shame not to with its 300 meters of water resistance) I see this as more of a bulletproof daily complicated watch.  Maybe even a one or part of a two watch solution for cruises or tropical vacations.  I knew from my prior Bathyscaphs that the sail cloth and rubber strap is amazingly comfortable.  The only negative, and I knew this going in, is that it doesn't hack (at least without back pressure on the crown) but I'm used to that with other watches.  It's also challenging to photograph with the sunray finish, dark gray color with bright indices.  Lots of contrast and reflectivity but that is part of the charm, as I see it.  That's a long-winded way of saying it's a fun watch!

Thanks again for your comments!

As a fan of Blancpain's modern Bathyscaphe and having owned both the OC Chronograph and black ceramic time and date versions, I found myself drawn to this most outrageous and perhaps polarizing version. I've mulled it over for the past several months and ...

So many Blancpains tempt me

I have never pulled the trigger, but hopefully one day. In the meantime, I'll add this model to the BP wishlist!

Congrats on this great piece

I almost almost almost bought this. Many times I asked the AD about this model. It combines the signature moonphase that Blancpain is famous for, with the Bathy case. That is fusion. I particularly like the broody moon on this, it’s clean symmetry and als...

It might be too strange a mixture for me--but I'll be interested to hear what life with it is like!

Thank you everyone...

The Bathyscaphe line is an all time favorite for me, though I prefer the plain time and date only. I surely would be proud to have this one in my collection! πŸ˜ƒ
