Tough luck on the watch but given the uncertainty of a replacement it must be nice to get your money back!

Money back or wait for a possible new watch until January. Possible... I have a feeling that somebody thinks this is not worth repairing and will not be noticed by the next buyer..... 40 yrs into watches and I do notice this stuff at once.
