I had a Leman PC Chrono, I had to repair it three times. I gave up, which is sad as it was a lovely watch. It was 20 years ago.

Is Blancpain at the top (again) ?

Dear Friends, In the past, the reputation of Blancpain was honestly not great. Many of Blancpain owners had problems and the usual advice was "to avoid troubles, avoid Blancpain". Beyond reliability concerns, there were also finishing concerns. I think th...

Collecting Blancpain for now almost 25 years…

… I think that those old issues have long gone. Yes, there was a time when marketing was probably more important than quality control, but that is a quarter century ago. The 8 day calibers in the 42-45mm Villeret line with Grand Feu enamel dials are all s...

I love my Blancpains and have very little

trouble with them. For me, my experience has been they are very reliable. I long for the Leman case to come back. So pleasing.

sorry to hear this Nico

Perhaps it was assembled on a Friday! Mine has been bulletproof, even for hiking... ...

Deservedly so! I had same troubles with VC

Gen I Overseas with the GP movement, just too delicate for an adventure watch. But I'm emotionally attached so spent the money...

But this PC with underlug corrector, enamel dial, moonphase disc and layout is a perfect perpetual.

Just received my ref. 7002 back from BP service in Le Sentier and am very impressed with the communication, timing....

and that my 25 year old watch looks almost brand new (!). From an organizational standpoint Blancpain is a unique brand.. you need to study it's 'recent' history (starting from 1983 Biver/Piguet and through the 1992 SMH acquisition and then Marc Hayek's l...

oooh, love this one

Never sure whether I like it best in black dial or white

Blancpain, like Breguet, and even more so, has been neglected by Swatchgroup.

I've heard claims that this is changing, but sustained proof is required at this point.

I've heard the same but, like you, am unsure...

Though, I do feel Breguet's line up is being curated. BP's however is still a hodgepodge.

A few interesting Breguets are hinted to be in the pipeline, so there is movement and care within the neglect.

Just as you say, SG's regard for BP is uncertain when everything that isn't a Fifty Fathoms seems to be gathering cobwebs.

I think money is involved. SG must fight against Richemont, so in a rush SG focused only on the bestsellers. In that way Richemont is leading and watching independents. LV is running up with Bulgari and Zenith, inventing all the time with Tag Heuer as wat...

Blancpain versus the rest....

I still have a 20 year old BP flyback perpetual that i have worn more robustly then the piece deserves and I service it every 10 years. It keeps excellent time. Always send it back to Switzerland, never satelite repair centers. I dont believe Bp is any wo...

Never got any problem over the last 20 years... ...

I don’t wear it often…

But my Blancpain split second perpetual is probably the most complicated piece I own. Dial is a bit busy and it is larger than most PCs. Have not had any issues with it. Was sold in both rose gold and platinum. Dave ...

Superb!

It is hard to find perpetual calendar with 8 days power in other brand.
