An old love: Blancpain Leman Chronograph Perpetual Calendar.

Mar 04, 2022,16:41 PM

From one of my friends, in steel.

I had it in white gold blue dial, which was really eye catching.

Its 38, 5 mm case ( from memory ) was  perfect for me.

Gone, but not forgotten.

Best,

Nicolas

With all the watches that have come and gone from my collection, these first two have remained... I was a short-time custodian and not a fan of the skeletonized hands or complicated dial This was my first "real" watch purchase from a certain famous shop i...

Some say Blancpain is extraordinarily underappreciated...

I just say they are extraordinary. ...

It's really something. My photos do not do it justice.

Shorty's Home has a wonderful set of photos on his blog of it.

BP IS extraordinarily underrated!

If you look at there current catalogue, there are many hot pieces. The execution, offered technical solutions are top (correctors under the lugs, many useful features like often a high PR and WR, antimagnetic movements etc). And you don’t have to sell you...

Thank you, Thomas!

Oh you know! :)

Thank you again for introducing me to it! I am considering sourcing a BOR bracelet for it. I know BP makes one for a Villeret and I assume it will fit, I just have to work up the courage to my AD how much.

Not gone or not forgotten....

I have it still on WG bracelet and the updated dial... Here with the original skeleton hands. I had the original dial with the all the months and it was not clear so I switched to this dial. Much more legible. Below is the dial as delivered by Blancpain. ...

Sorry to dig up an old thread. How do you get the dial and hands changed? Do you request through the service centre?

I have its successor

Same line, same movement, but upsized to 40mm. (Also in steel) ...

+1!

Nice watches, great combo.

The only thing is I have difficulty reading the small prints on the dial. I used to hate the cyclops lens on Rolex watches. Now I think they are a great invention. Maybe one does not need to read the sub dials to appreciate watches like you have posted. T...

True, true... Alas.

is a wonderful specimen. Blancpain has so much to offer. What I always liked about their complicated watches are their unconventional solutions, for example that the correctors are integrated under the lugs and don’t “destroy” the case. Your blue dialed i...
