Mokarran - Strap #4 Tropic NATO

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-11:07
Getting there, I caved and also bought the ceramic hardware and older NATO from the boutique, $$$$. Guess I am not servicing any more watches this year. ...

I have never seen this Nato

Is it from Blancpain? Looks great BTW!

Hello Sire - it is from YellowDogWatchStraps.

Ted, my friend, I’m afraid you are going in the wrong direction👎

No offense of course, just one knucklehead’s opinion!

Appreciate your opinion Sire.

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-11:55
What direction you think I should be going? Maybe stick to OEM NATO, my wife seems to love the OEM NATO and does not like any of the funky straps I bought. She thought the green leather was a good color, maybe not the best materials. Guess, sometimes, you...

Hahaha, let me check!

No! Aftermarket... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤑🤑🤑🤑😭😭🤣🤣😂😂😂

OEM black Nato strap

Ceramic hardware and your done!

I agree with your wife

 By: Brandon Skinner : August 15th, 2020-13:37
I love a good strap change as much as the next. I only wear watches on straps and used to change straps on my pieces constantly (like multiple times a day sometimes). These days, I try strap after strap, but once I find THE strap then pretty much I stick ...

This is good analysis Sire....

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-13:43
Maybe I continue my search to try to prove my wife wrong, that I can find a good aftermarket strap. It is not working LOLOLOL Well I just went broke buying the OEM NATO with the ceramic hardware, if that is not better than the plain NATO, I'll slap myself...

I think you made the right call!

 By: MiguelFlash : August 15th, 2020-14:24
Pricey but it will look fantastic. Can’t wait to see a photograph of it. IMHO that is the strap it should have come with from the start!

Thank you Sire, will keep you posted. I think I might have to buy up the older model NATOs before they go out of stock

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-14:26
I am trying to get the NYC store to send me the Green NATO, old model, they have. If I have like 3 of those old NATOs, one new NATO model, and my black sail cloth, I should be okay hahahahah. 1st world problems.

hahaha, that's hilarious, "NATO militia."

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-14:32
I love that term, however, I am going to try to be careful with the word "militia." Sensitive times these days Sire, sensitive times.

I like how it looks on the watch but I’m not sure (am never sure) about NATO’s on the wrist.

The whole fold back thing is just always been ugly to me despite how many times I’ve tried them on my watches / wrist.

Valid point, it’s is a different look for sure, than normal straps

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-16:25
Like the sail cloth, or another strap. Not entirely sure how I feel about it in the aggregate, the bulk of it is def a negative, gonna chew on it.

I think the casual look is good for that watch, a canvas or some like material.

Have you thought about getting a custom strap for this?

I am open to a custom strap,

 By: K-Lo : August 15th, 2020-16:40
What high end do you recommend that can do 23mm?

You don’t need to go high end.

If Greg Stevens or Micah (Vintager Straps) are still working those guys I can vouch for. I bought numerous straps from them over the years (for Panerais, IWCs etc). Style is more tool watch, but you do have yourself a tool watch there so perhaps there’s s...

Hmmmmhhhh....

I personally found the green sail cloth better. IMHO. Not sure about this strap style with all these holes. The colour of this dial is wonderful. Best Thomas

Yes, I agree, green sail cloth is good looking.

I can use this tropic NATO for diving, .

Dear Doctor - listen to this..

 By: K-Lo : August 16th, 2020-13:33
I saw a “used,” yes used, OEM black NATO with ceramic listed for 1200. I called the boutique, as of now, all NATOs, old and new model are $230. The ceramic kit, priced now is, around $450. I think the hardware is 50% off because it is going to be discount...

Not bad Ted but I am with the others in thinking that the OEM NATO would look best...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : August 17th, 2020-04:25
so once you get the OEM green NATO from the boutique or the ceramic hardware you just picked up, you will be set. Still want you to try it on an Isofrane dive strap if you can get one in green. I would think black would also look good and more neutral as ...

Got it Sire, did buy the black BlancPain rubber so

 By: K-Lo : August 17th, 2020-06:48
Hopefully that will be good, spent good money on that. 😬😬😬 I don’t think they will ever make the green Iso again in 24mm, black is available in 24mm, but not green. 😟😟😟
