This watch is ugly in my opinion. Blancpain in general is meh... In fact I said it before it's like a over priced planet ocean!

These guys have a very sure taste. This is as good as anything Blancpain could have done.

To the point of a post from a few days back on here, had Blancpain made this on their own and produced 500-1000 they could have sold out as well.

...and either wore it or sold it for a profit (as most of these H editions do these days). But I made the [relatively simple] decision to move on and leave it for those who are truly in love with it. Now, if it were a 40mm fifty fathoms with sapphire beze...

... I like the dial, and I agree that in a 40mm case with sapphire bezel it would be a killer watch 🙏 Given that a quite significant quantity is sold simply on the basis of photos and having tried the 38mm Bathyscaphe on my wrist, I suspect that some buye... 

All this cash grabbing limited edition vintage crap, the lack of smaller sizes for both dress and sports watches. Sell out to one of the biggest influencers.

Good size for me, nice colours, timeless design and good font. Kind of perfect if you ask me. Lots to like... apart from the price: this is an awful lot of cash for a steel 3-hander from a premium brand.

as most are way over-priced. My FF Tribute to No Radiations was $16k MSRP brand new. (Thankfully, I didn't pay even remotely close to that when I got mine second-hand). The modern FF Mil-Spec is $14.5k or thereabouts. So under $10k is actually low for Bla... 

Hodinkee probably had 50% of the allocation with the rest split between those two boutiques. Goes to show again that the Swiss brands have their heads up their arses if they can't produce something as simple as a no-date dive watch. Doesn't mean they have...

Maybe we should be checking Hodinkee’s HTML code for “no date” and “38 mm” interlaced with images/text. It’s practically their motto.

$$9900?? Cough, choke!! Wow!! will there be regrets coming!! Oh, the pain. Not tomorrow or next few months, but OH when the hype passes... This is not a $9900 watch. Fake aged lume really surprises me! True collectors hate this detail. Embarrassed for Bla... 

..let me explain why: - the watch is the lowest value FF/Bathyscaphe iteration, the 38mm - such an experiment already was conceded to Revolution watch a few years back and it was actually nicer, brown and all - the message to me - and I am a huge Blancpai... 

Increased awareness among the masses. Clearly all of these brands who have participated with Hodinkee on these watches have identified an important and valuable marketing opportunity. On the reserve I’m sure Hodinkee now has enough data to be able to sell...

We make scoff at it, look at it as some kind of sell out or devaluing but it’s never that. It’s a very good marketing opportunity and Hodinkee know that and surely lever that in courting the brands for these collaborations.

...the minute hand shouldn’t be where it is based on the second hand : ) Other than that it’s nice, if only for killing the date.

On another note, these collab/LEs will backfire when done left and right. At the rate it's going, it's not something that one will look forward to with great anticipation. I'd probably go this route maybe once a year with a really well thought out product...

I was also online when it came up. So caught have bought. Decided was too pricey for not really anything special. Glad I saved the money. Would rather have the new ceramic black.

Seeing as Hodinkee is so proud to boast of its high quality readers how come their release is so US specific. I'm not saying I would of bought one but anyone from Europe would have to pay 20 % import duty on top of this price so I don't get why Blancpain ... 

I love it, but I do see a lot of non-love here. That's OK with me. Hope you like the quick pics. Oh, I'm keeping it ...
