I admire the detail and the specialist tools but...borderline over-engineered? ;) Love it! [nt]

Swapping out to rubber

 By: Fastwong : April 9th, 2020-15:06
After switching over my JLC to a rubber strap to survive the new covid-19 hand washing regimen, I decided to dig up the Blaincpain box and rubber strap a go too. The strap, the tools, the screws, the process, all of it is a great reminder of why Blancpain...

Yes, it looks it. [nt]

Always nice to explore boxes!

I've been opening watch boxes and reading the receipts of things I've bought over the years. And I also find straps of different colors all unused. Lots of little forgotten goodies in these boxes sometimes!

This is the most tool-ish looking piece of hand-finished haute horologie that I’ve ever seen. (I mean that in a flattering way)

Once Blancpain offers the FF in a more friendly 40mm case, I’ll be the first to get one.

Thanks! The huge brushed titanium case is all business but the dial and caseback are ready to party πŸ˜‹

It is crazy though that there isn't a 40mm in the regular lineup. Blancpain would kill it if they made a steel bracelet 40mm 50 Fathoms a standard offering.

It’s crazy: I’d made the same prophecy in another post that I made last week.

Gonna hold out hope for a regular production FF in 40 mm
